In short

  • We collect only what we need to run your catalogue, bill you and keep the service secure.
  • We never sell personal data or use it for third-party advertising.
  • Shoppers who visit catalogues are counted in aggregate; we don't build profiles of them.
  • You can access, correct or erase your data at any time by writing to us.

This summary is for convenience; the full text below is what applies.

1. Who we are

Selectvia (selectvia.com) is operated by Selectvia, India ("Selectvia", "we", "us"). For the purposes of the Digital Personal Data Protection Act, 2023 ("DPDP Act"), we are the Data Fiduciary for personal data of sellers who use our service and of visitors to our website.

Sellers decide what products and links appear in their catalogues. Where a seller adds personal information about other people to a catalogue, the seller is responsible for having the right to do so.

2. Data we collect

  • Account data: name, email address, mobile number, password (stored only as a one-way hash) and, if you sign in with Google, your Google profile name, email and picture.
  • Catalogue content: shop name, logo, descriptions, product details, images and marketplace links you add.
  • Billing data: plan, invoices, GST details you provide and payment status. Card, UPI and bank details are collected and processed by Razorpay; we never see or store them.
  • Usage and device data: log data such as IP address, browser, device type, pages requested and timestamps, used for security, debugging and abuse prevention.
  • Catalogue analytics: when a shopper opens a catalogue we record aggregate counts: views, clicks per marketplace, device category, referrer category and whether the visit came from a QR code. We do not record shoppers' names or contact details.
  • Communications: emails and support requests you send us, and delivery status of the emails we send you.

3. How and why we use it

We process personal data only for lawful purposes for which you have given consent or for legitimate uses permitted by Section 7 of the DPDP Act:

  • To create and secure your account, including one-time passwords for verification.
  • To host and display your catalogue and product pages publicly at your chosen link.
  • To process subscriptions, renewals, coupons, gift cards and refunds, and to issue invoices.
  • To show you analytics about your catalogue.
  • To send service emails (verification, receipts, renewal reminders, security alerts). Product updates and offers are sent only with your consent and include an unsubscribe link.
  • To detect fraud and abuse, enforce our Terms, and comply with legal obligations such as tax and accounting record-keeping.

4. Who we share it with

We share personal data only with service providers who process it on our behalf under contract, and only as needed:

  • Razorpay: payment processing and recurring billing.
  • Google: sign-in with Google, if you choose it.
  • Resend: delivery of transactional email.
  • DigitalOcean: cloud hosting, databases and image storage.

We may disclose data where required by law, court order or a lawful request from a government agency, or to protect the rights, property or safety of Selectvia, our users or the public. If Selectvia is involved in a merger or acquisition, data may transfer to the successor, which will remain bound by this policy.

We do not sell personal data, and we do not share it with advertisers.

5. Where data is stored and for how long

Data is stored on secure cloud infrastructure, which may be located in or outside India; any transfer outside India is made only to countries not restricted by the Central Government under Section 16 of the DPDP Act.

We keep account and catalogue data for as long as your account is active. When you delete your account we erase or anonymise your personal data within 30 days, except records we must keep by law (for example invoices, which are retained for the period required under the GST and Income-tax laws). Unverified sign-ups are deleted automatically. Server logs are kept for up to 180 days. Our Data Retention & Deletion Policy lists every category in detail.

6. Your rights

Under the DPDP Act you have the right to:

  • Access a summary of the personal data we process about you and the processing activities.
  • Correct, complete or update inaccurate or incomplete data, most of it directly from your dashboard.
  • Erase your personal data, subject to legal retention requirements.
  • Withdraw consent at any time; this does not affect processing already carried out.
  • Nominate another person to exercise your rights in the event of death or incapacity.
  • Have your grievance addressed by us, and if unresolved, complain to the Data Protection Board of India.

To exercise any right, email privacy@selectvia.com from your registered address. We respond within 30 days.

7. Cookies and local storage

We use a small number of essential cookies and browser storage entries to keep you signed in, remember your theme and count catalogue visits once per session. We don't use advertising cookies. See our Cookie Policy for details.

8. Security

We protect data with encryption in transit (HTTPS), hashed passwords, short-lived access tokens, role-based access for staff, rate limiting and regular backups, consistent with reasonable security practices under the IT Act, 2000 and the SPDI Rules, 2011. No system is perfectly secure; if a personal data breach occurs we will notify affected users and the Data Protection Board as required by law.

9. Children

Selectvia is meant for businesses and is not directed at children. You must be at least 18 years old to create an account. We do not knowingly process children's personal data; if you believe a child has given us data, contact us and we will delete it.

10. Changes to this policy

We will post any changes on this page and update the date above. For material changes we will also notify you by email or in your dashboard before they take effect.

11. Contact and grievances

Privacy questions: privacy@selectvia.com. Grievances can be raised with our Grievance Officer as described on our Grievance Redressal page (grievance@selectvia.com).
